Walmart has said that it will add to the subscription-based product suite and that it anticipates introducing a free basic package for suppliers in 2023, about a year after launching Walmart Luminate, a data monetization platform for merchants and suppliers.
According to a press release from Walmart, one data set that the company has added to its roadmap for Charter subscribers for the upcoming fiscal year is “digital product transact ability,” which will provide insights into the items that customers add to their cart and buy via grocery pick-up and delivery.
According to the press release, the soon-to-be-available Basic package, which will be free to suppliers, will include a selection of Channel Performance insights, including common operational indicators, pre-set downloadable reports, and a breakdown of store and eCommerce sales.
Additionally, the business reported that over the course of its first 11 months, Walmart Luminate has increased its customer base, grown its revenue by 80% quarter over quarter, and served clients of all shapes and sizes.
According to John Laney, senior vice president, and general merchandising manager of the center of store food at Walmart, “shared access to Walmart Luminate with our suppliers has proven a game-changer.”
