Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (Bladex) has announced its participation in Swiss FinTech Komgo’s trade financing platform.
In a news statement, Bladex stated that it is the first Latin American bank to join the Komgo platform, which allows companies to exchange verified communications and perform transactions.
According to the bank, the new collaboration will strengthen its ability to promote international trade in the region, as many of its existing clients and partners already use Komgo.
“Through this collaboration, Bladex intends to promote new products and financing structures, grow its client base, improve operational and efficiency, and further reinforce transaction security by using the capabilities of modern technologies,” he added.
“Bladex’s cooperation strengthens our digital network and opens up a critical market for our corporate users,” stated Komgo CEO Soulema Baddi. “We are ecstatic to be able to help Bladex and its clients on their digital transformation journeys.”
Trade finance digitalization, facilitated by platforms such as Komgo, is making it easier for businesses to obtain the funding they require. It also offers significant advantages to companies that must manage a large number of structured or unstructured loans.
